Sam Morelli, CMB
PRESIDENT

Sam Morelli is a business executive with more than 30 years of diversified banking and mortgage banking experience who has a history of leading companies to their ultimate success. He has particular expertise in real estate finance. Mr. Morelli holds the distinguished Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation.

As a seasoned executive, Sam is an experienced manager who has taken several businesses to the next level. He has been the President of both public and private companies of which he not only managed large numbers of employees but also implemented streamlined and cost savings operations and technological advances.

His management style is to understand all aspects of the business such that he could run any area of the company day to day. However, he looks to his management team to fill that role so that he can focus on the strategic direction, growth (either organic or through acquisitions) and the financial relationships necessary to ensure stability for the company.

Sam was President and COO of a Mortgage Banking Holding Company licensed in forty-seven states comprised of three major subsidiaries. He supervised the operation of between 250-450 retail offices and approximately 1500 employees.

As the President of PrimeSource Mortgage, Inc., Sam is responsible for all aspects of the company’s residential mortgage retail origination and operations platforms.

Sam is an active member with many years service to the Mortgage Bankers Association beginning at the local level and advancing to the national level. He has held various leadership positions including a number of committee chairs with both the MBA of Greater Philadelphia (GP) and the MBA of Pennsylvania (PA). Mr. Morelli is a Past President of the MBA of GP and Past Chairman of the MBA of PA and is an active member of the Executive Committee of the Regional Conference of MBA’s.

Further, Sam has recently been elected to a new term as a member of the National MBA’s Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG) and has recently completed serving his third term on the National MBA’s Board of Directors. Previously he served for six years on RESBOG. Sam has served on various MBA Task Forces dealing with a multitude of the Real Estate Finance Industry issues including Fraud, Licensing, Affordable Housing, Borrower Choice, Mortgage Insurance, GSE Reform, Future of FHA, and the RESPA Ready Task Force. In addition Sam served two terms as the National Chair of the Mortgage Action Alliance, which is the premier nationwide, grassroots lobbying organization of the real estate finance industry dedicated to strengthening the power of the industry's voice in Washington, DC and state capitals and is in his second two-year term as Vice Chair of MORPAC, the industry’s political action committee. Currently, Sam serves as Chair of the National MBA Membership Committee. On State Regulatory issues, Sam is a current member of the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators’ (AARMR) Advisory Council.

Throughout his career, Sam has received many awards and recognitions for his contributions to the Real Estate Finance Industry. Most recently Sam was named the 2008 MBA of PA Mortgage Banker of the Year, was inducted in 2008 into the National Mortgage Bankers Legion, an organization established in 1945 to recognize an individual’s leadership and service to the MBA. In 2009, Sam was the recipient of the Burton C. Wood Legislative Award presented by the Mortgage Bankers Association in recognition of his extensive work within the State and National Legislative Arenas and is the recipient of the 2010 MORPAC Distinguished Service Award. Sam and his wife Sheila reside in Florida and Tennessee and have five children and three grandchildren.



Crystal Chavez
Branch Services

In March of 2001, Crystal Chavez became a member of the PSM team in Roswell, New Mexico. In her current position, she helps new branches get established. She is in frequent contact with the branch owners, assisting them in their compliance training and education. Hosting training sessions in Roswell and planning conference events adds variety to her work. She also supports the projects of the Resource Team, supplying information or acting as a liaison to the organization.

After earning a bachelor's degree in business administration from New Mexico State University, she held a variety of jobs in Albuquerque and Las Cruces before joining PSMI. She handled customer service for a healthcare company and member services for an insurance company. She later served as the sales manager for a hotel.

Crystal's husband, Mark Chavez, is a loan originator in Roswell's PSM branch office. When Crystal's not consumed with PrimeSource business, she acts as a chauffer for Jordan, her six-year-old daughter.
